I Iooking for 3 in 12 ga semi-automatic. I found a Charlie Daly 601 for $309 but the Tristars are between $400 & $550. I leaning towards the Charlie Daly. Which is the better between the two?
Cant say I've heard of the Tri-Star before but Charles Daily is a good gun. When they first came out about 20 years ago Wally world sold them as did others. They were a good low budget gun. I still kick myself for not getting one back then as you cant find them these day it seems. Someone else owns the company now but I can't remember who.
Agree. Low budget guns from Turkey are a toss up. They are made one at a time for the most part and it kind of depends on who built your gun.
The great and incredibly expensive shotguns built in England and Belgium were built the same way, but they went through years of apprenticeship before they ever had the opportunity to finish a shotgun.
Turks don't require the apprentice program, just relying on who they can hire. Some make it and some don't.
Agree
I have a SXS made by Fausti that is engraved on the receiver. Beautiful shotgun and the workmanship is amazing.
There were also shotguns made in Spain that were hit or miss depending on who built them.
Don’t hear much about them anymore.
I won a tri-star-AKA- the working mans boat paddle-a few years ago at a sporting clay shoot. RUN RUN RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. REMOVE ALL THOUGHTS AND IDEAS ASSOCIATED WITH 3-[emoji294][emoji294][emoji294]. Didn't have 500 rounds through it and already went through 2 sets of the carbon compression recoil whatever you want to call them rings and the firing pin got bent once and fell-I repeat FELL out of gun. When it did shoot it had the most horrific metallic clang-ping sound to it. Customer service was about as useless Christopher Reeves as your anchor man on a tug of war team. I would highly recommend looking at another brand IMO. The best use I got out of mine was using it as a paddle and a push pole for a broken down boat in the north end of Kaw lakes mud flats.
