The WSSM is only 100 fps faster than the standard .243. The difference is in the lighter varmint rounds where it shines.

I love the .243 but the creedmoore offers the same trajectory and with a heavier bullet selection is what has me thinking about it

.243 all day long between the two unless you're going to be doing the 1000y thing. Even then, I wouldn't be choosing the creedmor for that either.

The .243 has been misaligned for years by gun rag stories in magazines where huge mega calibers are the only thing that will bring down a prairie dog humanely.

I'm of the other opinion where speed kills. Our bullet technology is where it's at now. We have bullets for just about any scenario. Bullets that will remain intact when going through bone and bullets that will explode on contact for home defense so we don't endanger those behind the target as well as long range paper punchers.
It's a new world out there for bullets, so I'd look at the purpose you want to use the caliber for, and pick the bullet that will perform the best.

You can have a lot of fun with the .270. Light bullets going really fast make coyotes explode and you can stretch a .270 out to further than my old eyes can see. But, not trying to talk ya outta buying a new toy!

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.
