I was deep south in Creek County helping some friends yesterday seen a large buck tending a doe off the road in a field. As of last week when I was checking my camera at the house I've got fawns with spots. What's going on around here? Some are shedding some are chasing and some refuse to grow up

Definitely been a weird year. I had those late rubs show up. Saw a fresh shed a week before Christmas, buck chasing a doe a couple weeks ago. Weird for sure

We had some really tiny fawns this year. No spots but there must have been a really late rut in the early part of 2019.

Most all state lands here are closed to shed hunting until noon on May 1st.

Reduce the pressure on the wintering grounds so the game can survive. Winters here are harsh and less pressure helps the survival rate.

It does but it also prevents people from using public lands. Not only are many closed to shed hunting many are closed to human use period. National forest lands however are open. Lots of snow machining and cross country skiing.
