What are your thoughts on this new bill? Kansas has commissioners on the wildlife and parks looking into hopefully before legislation gets a hold of it and tries to control it. In kansas we can shoot coyotes of out a vehicle and of course no limit or season. But, still can not used artificial light including thermal and NV.

I'm all for it. Tx has been doing it for many years without much issue. I don't think you should have to apply for a permit either.
I know it opens up the deer poaching by spotlight issue, but with so many deer now, I don't know if that is going to be a big issue.

Not a fan of the permit portion of the bill, but yes, you should be able to hunt them at night.
America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.

I've thought about getting approval to hunt hogs at night on my brothers place. I guess it's nice that we aren't actually required to notify the warden. It's just suggested.

Still supposed to have a night shooting exemption for piggies. Notification of game warden is supposed to be applicable during deer season, rest of the year not necessary.

I think coyotes should be able to be hunted at night, for sure.

Yep. I just haven't submitted it yet.

Is it difficult to get one of those night shooting exemptions?

Nope. As long as you are a deed holding landowner or written designee for the landowner. They have an electronic form on ODWC site to get one. Then, anyone with permission to hunt under said exemption just needs a copy of written permission and a copy of the permit. I have a screenshot of my buddy's permit # saved on my phone.
