    Hey there

Looking forward to being able to hunt again. May be getting stationed at Vance and looking for places to hunt. Will be getting my kids 10 and 12 into hunters safety classes when we get there. We also enjoy off roading in our side x side and shooting so any places to ride and places to shoot will be appreciated. Hope to meet some of you all.

Welcome to Oklahoma and to the site. Some good public hunting areas around Enid and as far as riding, you've got Little Sahara at Waynoka and Beaver Dunes park in Beaver OK.
America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.

Welcome to Oklahoma Hunter! Like has been said, your neighbors to Little Sahara State park. Some of the finest dune riding in the country.
We have a link in our hunting section to the public hunting and fishing around the state. The Oklahoma department of wildlife website also lists all of the WMA's and the fishing/hunting regulations.
GoOutdoorsOk is an app you can get from the app store that is a shortcut to the ODW website and is the way one can do the online check in of game like deer and turkey while out in the field.

I forgot to ask but how is the fishing and where do you go around Enid? Thanks again for all the advice.

Not a lot of fishing places at Enid, but your just an hour away from Kaw Lake, and 30 minutes from some smaller lakes in Perry, one of which is stocked with trout during the winter months.

Welcome to Oklahoma Hunter!!! Enid isn't far from El Reno so I highly suggest that you enter your kids in the USDA Grasslands youth gun hunt at Ft. El Reno. Its a 2 day 2 deer hunt and a great time. This 2 day hunt is the only hunting allowed on the place. My oldest drew 3 years in a row and filled 5/6 tags. That place is loaded with deer and some HUGE bucks. I'd also look into the Noble Research Institute you hunt as well. Lodging, meals and guide are all provided. The lodging is awesome. That hunt is down south in Anadarko. Its separate from the regular draw hunts so watch the ODWC web site come August/ Sep time frame.
