Something May Be Cramping My Style

Well, good news/bad news. Something is coming up soon that may seriously get in the way of my hunting/fishing adventures. I've accepted a new job, that's the good news. The bad news is I'll be starting over on vacation leave and it's more responsibility than I currently have and I'll be on call 24/7. So that means less time in the woods this fall and probably a touch less fishing opportunities.

I won't be working all the time, but I'll need to be mindful to stay in cell reception areas, at least, to triage emergencies, which seriously impacts my pig hunting. However, it's bettering my career and the household so that's the positive trade off. I'll still be in OKC, actually working closer to the house, so that's a positive trade off as well.

Another congrats on the new job!
Before I retired I was pretty much on call 24/7 for many years. Always found ways to get out hunting and fishing.
You hate to start out with shorter vacations though. Feel your pain on that one.

The way I see it is that reason you accepted the job is because it’s all part of HIS plan for you and it was meant to be. Congratulations and good luck.

Thanks everyone. I know I'll find a way to make it work after I transition over there I'm sure. I'm probably just nervous about the change. It's not as drastic as Bullbuster moving up to WY, but I'll be leaving my current position after 6.5 years, the longest I've worked for one employer. Saying my goodbyes the last couple days at work has been difficult, there are some good eggs here. On the bright side I start my new gig on Monday.
