Took a trip to the city range today. Very nice facility just north of town. Had 3 antelope out in the middle of the 1,000 yard range. Those darn things are everywhere. ANYWAY.....will be getting a membership here soon and will be out doing some shooting. They have life size steels on that range of sheep and buffalo at 500 & 1,000y. Also has a 300y covered rifle range.

Sounds like the range near the RV campground we stay at in Antonio Co. Owned by the county.
Life size steel cut outs of elk, bison, mountain lion and goats. There is a swinger at the vitals area so you know when you hit it. This range only goes out to 600 yards which is still a pretty good poke.

Swinger, vital areas and still a pretty good poke should not be in the same sentence. I do like to the clank of steel after a rifle report though.

Looks like Wed the fam and I will do a day at the range. Will sight in my son’s new 30-06, verify my .308 & 7mm at 200 (and certainly take a longer poke). I’d like to know how they are at 500y as well. Be nice to see how accurate the Nikon BDC is on my .308. Will post up some targets when done.

As soon as I get off of antibiotics and get over the tick fever, I will get some shooting in.

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.

A bit late here but we had fun at the range. The boys and I hit steel at 300y with the .308, 30-06 and 7mm. Oldest boy and I hit steel at 560y with the .308 and 7mm. I hit steel at 1,007y with the 7mm.
