    What can we do?

What can we do to keep OKH alive? We need some ideas to keep this forum going and get others involved seems like it’s just the same handful of members posting with a few newcomers?

I seems to be a busy seasonal forum. It gets more use as hunting seasion starts. I'm guilty as far as not posting more during the off season due to haying, working cattle and lots of the crazy stuff that happens day to day around this circus of mine. It would have you guys calling the proper authorities to have me committed if I posted it. I am all for something to create more activity on our forum though. Even thought about trying to have a get together at a central location sometime for burgers. I'd even supply the meat. As scattered out as everyone is and every ones jobs it would have to be planned 6 months to year out to get a decent turnout. Maybe at a gun range where we could shoot rifles, pistols, bows, shotguns, throw knives, tomahawks and slingshots. I'm game for anything.

Since I'm the President of the Ponca City Rifle and Pistol club, I can sponsor a meet there. We allow tomahawks, full auto, and everything else if it falls within the timeframe of when I'm home and not on the road in the RV.
We are pretty seasonal for sure. Always have been.
BTW, I was in kwaynem's hood today, and Murphs hood last week coming home from a trout fishing trip to Lake Tanneycomo in Missouri. We had to attend a funeral in Burbank today, and decided to travel to eat at Ree Drummonds pizza joint. Pretty good grub.Got the all meat pizza with the balsamic glaze and added some shrooms.
We have members involved in the wheat harvest, and the farming community that are pretty busy getting in the wheat and planting fall crops.

That’s one reason the hunting/ fishing contest was started in the first place to draw in more folks. When some found out it didn’t offer actual prizes they left for good. Have had offers of prize donations as well that when time came to pony up that prize they vanished never to be heard from again. I’m still unpacking and getting things in order, and will for some time yet, but when my work starts then I’ll be 12 on 12 off at minimum. We (Admins/ Mods) have bounced this situation for away now. IMO it’s going to come down to the powers that be doing something major to really boost members. Facebook and the many Oklahoma hunting and fishing groups really play a toll as well. I’ve posted links to here countless times. I’ve seen many forums such as this come and go over the years that I was a part of.

I’ve made many many lifelong friends/ acquaintances over the years on various forums. Some I’ve had the please to hunt and fish with. Others nothing more than occasional phone calls. Some have passed on without ever having met but talked regularly. It’s all part of the process and experience.

Kind of like life in the military. You make a close dear friend, don't see them for 20yrs and it's like you never missed a day. I like this forum and it's just about the only one I still visit and post on. No bickering or drama keeps my blood pressure down and everyone can take a joke or a poke to the ribs. Might have to look into the day of sporting clay shoot again.

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.

I'd be up for about whatever, just need to know far enough in advance to plan for it.

I'm on a bunch of other forums and have been in the habit of posting there way more than here. I'll check in every so often when I get the emails about trending topics.

Is this forum tied in with any Facebook groups? Not that I'm willing to get back on that social media cesspool . . .
