America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.

We finished weaning and spent just about all of yesterday horseback moving the cows back and driving calves to fescue and brome fields. Lots of bucks chasing and several cruising the open prairie looking for love. It got warm just after lunch and there were 3 bucks chasing 1 doe in a pasture by the pens. They all had their mouths gapped open and for awhile one of the bucks went and stood belly deep in a pond.

Had several people that were traveling in the western and South Eastern part of the state note there were more dead deer on the side of the road very recently. We drove to Broken Arrow today and back not seeing any.
I do believe it's on though. Will be Saturday before I can get out though.

Wife went to OKC via I40, said cars were stopped because a group of does were in the middle of the road with a buck chasing them. One of the does got caught up in the cable divider and the buck took the opportunity to try and get some. Couple of big ole boys chase off the buck and freed the doe in distress.

Buddy of mine is a dispatcher around the Weatherford area. A few nights ago he texted me and said that there was 9 calls over night for vehicle vs deer calls.
