We used to find Mushrooms out near the dam at Lake Ponca. There was a housing developement on South side of road going to Kaw Lake I would always find some. One big ditch had several springs coming out of the bank and we would find them there.

Over on the east lake, east end where they had the nature trail? Lots of springs in that area.

Edit: just reread your post. Lake road development on the south side where the duck pond and soccer fields are?

I just remember going across a bottom and climbing a hill and road or entrance to development was. That was 30 years ago for me.
You drove through the houses to the East side where a big ditch was.

No luck today. Plenty of moisture in my spot but vegetation not there. Must be too cool yet. Try again middle of week next.

We're probably going Monday or Tuesday to give the ground a little more time to warm up.
