    That reminds me. I still have an old paint bucket I put aside. I need to mix up some refractory and start playing with heating some steel. I promised myself I'd have a mini-forge built by winter, I better hurry up before it gets too cold.

    My wife started watching forged in fire and after a week, damn near had me convinced to buy her everything she needed to get started

    You can do small stuff with a couple of soft fire brick and a propane burner. Tell her you need a new weed burner and help her out. Short length of railroad track and a medium ball peon hammer. Go for it.

    I have about 2' of railroad iron given to me 40 years ago that's never been used for anything but stubbing a toe on. I could give him a piece for a starter. I have a standard anvil for beating anything I need.
