Oh yeah a tarp and one of those rear carrier racks and some tie downs is a must have for deer and hog hunting..Bird hunting it's no biggy I have a plastic tub for the back to handle that.. Kele that's definitely a nice rig there but to big for me and my gas mileage is way better.. I get around 15 for normal driving and a touch more on the highway...I am looking at a new 32 gal gas tank.. It's only $300 which I can't afford atm but down the road I may take the plunge and buy one...Gotta build my front and rear bumpers first. Can't seem to make sense of spending $400+ on a bumper when I can buy the steel and weld em myself for way less..

Thanks wayawatsi...Main goal is hunting and still be able to use it as a daily driver. So 2' lift was plenty for added ground clearance and nice MT tires.

Kele you could always get a nice edelbrock carb that allows you to manually switch to just a 2 barrel but still be able to go 4 barrel if need be.

Na,all I really need is the two barrels so I can get close to 15...Maybe 12-14,there's plenty of power as it's all opened up from the intake to the exhaust. It has a nice RV cam and like 10-1 Compression in it,so it would do fine,I have plenty of power with out opening up those other Two Barrels,The problem is it has one of those old crap Quadrajets in it and loads it up to much,Factory Junk. I'm only the second owner and the guy before me was filthy rich,so for 1976 it has all the bells and whistles they had, like Front Disc Brakes, they weigh about 150 Lb's each...There nice, has electronic Ignition,I also agree with you, that if you got up close and looked at this Factory Snow plow-Winch bumper on the front of my rig,it's just heavy gage steel welded together hooked straight into the frame,I've puled out 50 year old Stumps with the bumper hook and a chain before,Three Quick tugs and snap goes the tap root and down the road I go with this 500++ LB stump. You could probably build a better one. Best of luck to you with it

Here's the tires I think I am going to get. Firestone Destination MT

    http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT...ination-MT.htm

I had a quote on some tires called Michelin Mud Kings but can't find any information on them at all. So I may go with the Firestone tires,.

    Re: New Jeep

Those will work just fine, jeep man. How many inches are they,33? they look a lot like mine as far as the tread go's,mine are a little wider but they are Firestone's none the less-33 inches. Mine are older by a few years,I only drive it about 400-500 miles a year so there still new,a couple trips to the snow or some mudding,If I could get it out of smog and do what I want to it,I'd use it hunting more. The nice thing about those tires your looking at is there plenty aggressive enough to get'er done, and don't screem to laud going down the road.

    Re: New Jeep

Not sure the size in the pic but I am only going with 30" tires. I opted not to go to aggressive on the lift and what not.
