That was pretty cool watching mama cruise the area, and then the fawn getting back to her, for a little nourishment.
Just goes to show, if you find a fawn, and don't see mama, you can be assured she is in the area. Don't pick it up thinking its abandoned.
I suspect these folks fed her as brazen as she was around them.
We used to stay at Osage Hills State park cabins in the winter for a little get-away. They had a doe called Sugar. She was free ranging, but loved a cup of sugar cubes. She would come right up to you and take them from the cup. ;D I don't know who did it, but somebody ear tagged her so that the hunting lease around the park would know who sugar was, and hopefully let her go. She made four seasons.
