Oklahoma Shooters for Youth-a non profit LLC formed by myself and
5 other guys- put on the 17th annual Salt Creek Shootout this past weekend. It was a sporting clays event. We had college teams from Kansas state, Okla State and Panhandle state along with 150 other shooters. We raised over $20,000 for youth shooting groups. My 4H group received 14 cases of shells and a new 20 gauge over/under. I messed around and won the long bird competition(broke a crossing clay at 85 yards) for some cash and a Christensen Arms 300 wsm.

Good for you guys putting on what sounds was a great match.
The bonus was that awesome rifle. I’m jealous.
How far did you have to lead that clay to break it?

I got to watch a few before I shot and I picked a spot to shoot. The clay wasn't even in my peripheral when I shot. There was at least a full second between shot and the clay breaking. I was shooting my granddads 1947 Browning A5 with a 36 inch full choke barrel. I don't shoot it but once or twice a year. We started out at 35 yards and moved back after everyone shot. Those that hit kept shooting. Came down to me and another guy from 55 yards on. I wouldn't want to be asked to hit it again though
