See if I can make pictures work.
This was shot with a 55gr V-max from .223 rifle at close range.
DRT.
Shot at that angle looking slightly left towards me.
This is a homemade hoist that fits into the trunk comes apart in 3 pieces and has a flat plate welded on the bottom that I park my tire on to hold it in place.

This was in Tecumseh.

Last year a friend set multiple traps out for hogs in Watonga.
I probably shot 50 of them in the traps.
I was able to experiment with different loads.
Light weight 158gr 38 special was not 100% same bullet loaded to 357 mag velocity was.
.22 long rifle from a pistol was horrible.
Some guys used 9MM and it was 50%
I made a load for .308 with 100gr lead that does not expand the case and suppressed it makes no noise.
664 fps and in the forehead it dropped them and they stayed down.
In the side of the head in the ear area they dropped and stayed down.

I think the 9 and 38 rounds just could not hit the exact spot like the .308 rifle.
You get multiple hogs in a trap with a couple guys around it and begin shooting them they do not stand still.
55gr v max in .223 rifle made for game over instantly.

This year when the wheat gets a bit higher the hog traps will be set back out.

I should try the 40gr v-max and 50 on them.
Head and ear shots as I like to eat the females.
I suppose I could try some different shot spots on the males as they go to the ditch.
