Dirtriderkx118 welcome to the okie hunting family.

So your from Walters. That's only a 35 minute drive south of my house here in Medicine Park.
Will have to hook up this season & do some hunting together.

The waterfowl hunting was good last season, not great but good.
Due to high water levels thru out the state.
The first part was far better then the 2nd part of the split season.
You live with in 30 minutes of some of greatest waterfowling aeras here in S.W. OK .
Waurika Lake W.M.A. & Hackberry Flats W.M.A. & Refuge.

If you want to come out this way and go Dove Hunting let me know.
A bunch of us here on the site are getting together Sept,6th & 7th for some Dove blasting.

Hey dennis, how do you like your britt? Ive never heard a bad thing about em but was just wonderin what you thought. Im in the middle of sellin my lab pup right now because I cant take him to Okie. But here in the next 3 or so months when I get settled in somewhere Id like to get a quail dog and Ive had it narrowed down to a britt or german shorthair pointer. I still cant decide Ive always loved britts but we use to have pointers on the farm and they were always great dogs.

Welcome dirtrider, I hunt around frederick and we have lots of quail this year it seems.
I will talk to the farmer and see if we can get a weekend hunt get together. We have been
kicking up alot of quail so far this year.
btw, I am also using my tracking dog, my wirehaired dachshund for dove hunting. He did
really good last year as a pup. Not sure how he would do on quail but plan on trying him
on Pheasant in Kansas in November.

Love my britts! They are not only a great field dog, but a dog you can leave in the house as a family pet. I've heard some stories of people saying a house dog won't be a good hunter but I'm here to saky thats isn't so. :D ;D
