I’ve never hunted that area but it’s a popular hunting destination.

Big racks, small bodies. A booner may only go 140 lbs dressed weight.

There is a reason why Pushmataha County turns into a Dallas suburb every weekend from 1 September to 15 Dec.

I can always tell when the great hunting migration starts because oncoming traffic stops waving back.

In 2020 there were about 1,000 more does harvested here than in 2019. Buck numbers were about the same. I would actually expect a bit of a drop in hunting sightings for a little while on/near public land. If your property is large enough, or bordered by a bunch of other private land, you might not notice the difference.

Awesome part of the country. If you aren't from there, some will treat you like you don't belong. You'll stick out. It will take a while for people to accept you being there more than likely. If you property is really secluded dont leave anything there that you can't stand to lose.
