I had my new AR in my hands last night but the dammed stinking feds and their worthless "instant background" check came back as a "Delay"
I've bought lots of guns over the last 15 years, and I get "delayed" every time.
Next day, they call back and say its ok.
Problem is, My FFL dealer is out of town until monday. :'( :'(

It was sure purty.....in a black sort of way

I hate that! I am usually put on a delay also. Funny thing this
winter I was at Bass Pro, tried to buy a gun and was put on delay.
Did not cancel or anything, but went up to sportman's warehouse and
found another gun I was looking for. Well, I bought it and no delay?
It took about a week with the Bass pro gun, but they finally called with
the ok. I always wondered about that one?

My brother seems to have that issue with basspro...I have never had an issue but only bought my guns are Academy and Sportsmans Warehouse...Might be something on your name and SS that has a flag or something..Are you guys ex military? My brother is and he was told that's why he gets delays on buying guns..

Never had that problem.
They make the call & within 15-30 seconds,I'm good to go.

Yes, I am ex military. I have always had a delay at Bass pro shops and some other places
but never Sportmans warehouse or academy. Never been denied, just takes awhile at BPS.

I'm still mil spec'd and have never had a delay on a purchase, 'cept from the lil woman's ok'ing center. ;D
