I'm usually not very much of a political activist but this could be a big one for outdoorsmen. If passed this state question should help protect our hunting and fishing rights from those that would do away with them. So get out and vote early and vote often!!! ;D No, but really, do go vote on this and encourage everyone that you know that hunts and fish to vote on this too.

"In addition to the issue of the Presidency, Oklahomans will have several state ballot questions to address in the 2008 general election on November 4, 2008. Here is information on those questions including the full ballot text and a simplified explanation of their meaning.

State Question 742 - In Short: Though some contend it to be unnecessary, SQ 742 essentially solidifies constitutionally an Oklahoman's right to hunt, trap and fish, just in case someone ever wishes to challenge the issue.

Actual Ballot Text:
This measure adds a new section to the State Constitution. It adds Section 36 to Article 2. It gives all people of this state the right to hunt, trap, fish and take game and fish. Such activities would be subject to reasonable regulation. It allows the Wildlife Conservation Commission to approve methods and procedures for hunting, trapping, fishing and taking of game and fish. It allows for taking game and fish by traditional means. It makes hunting, fishing, and trapping the preferred means to manage certain game and fish. The new law will not affect existing laws relating to property rights."

Oh yeah you can bet I will be voting on this.. Where do you find info about such things on upcoming ballots?
I did a Google search for Okla state questions on 2008 ballot.

This ammendment change is being watched by the rest of the country. If it passes, and I'm sure it will, it will be the model for other states to follow. This would prevent things like the ban against bear hunting in New Jersey, and mountain lion hunting in "kalifornia"
I'll be voting for this one.
You all know how I will be voting on this one.

HELL YES
