Saw this deer on camera this morning. At first glance, just another forky.

Looking again, this may be more than just another forked horn. I count 10 points.
Left horn beam looks turned in and up. (Camera distortion). Do those beams look a little heavy.

I wonder if this might be an older deer.

Anybody else have any thoughts?

Is it Saturday yet?

Definitely a young buck IMHO for all the reasons stated above. The antlers are also a sign of it's youth. Not much mass.

Got an early start to the lease today. Did not expect to arrive early enough to sit a stand-but early start changed that.

I was trying to decide which stand to sit on. Cabin SW has some does that are alway around. Rock Creek has that drop point buck that showsup every couple days and he is due. Decided to sit Rock Creek.

This little guy showed but nothing else.

But mean while down at Cabin SW, this guy showed up.

Yep, that’s drop point!

i doubt it will do any good to sit Cabin SW in the morning. But I am going to.

That’s how it seems to work. They show up at the stand your not at and it becomes a guessing game.

I made up my mind, I am only sitting Rock Creek from now on.

So from Monday Morning to Thursday morning, morning and evening that has been where I have sat. All I have seen is one small doe and and one small buck.

Came home yesterday afternoon.

That is the only two deer I saw the whole 4 days.

Checked the camera's this morning.

This blind has been in place for several years and the guy who set it up lives in Dallas only hunts it for a couple days a year. He is coming up this weekend to hunt this spot.

The pattern has been these deer only come to the feeder once a week...I hope.

The last picture is a different buck than the others.

I have no words.

Well drop point has survived the other hunters...

Vertebrate Elk Nature Black Deer

Looks like he may have busted a point.

I do think the other hunters have left him for me. They are saying they leave the young ones to get bigger. This may be a young deer, but he is way bigger than any white tail I have ever taken .

I need to go down to the lease as we have this critter setting up camp on the feeder.

He is spending most of the day and evening on the feeder, not leaving the area.

I had planned on taking my 450/400 3" NE with the bow.

Tell me about shot placement on hog with an arrow, where to aim? , In this picture, right behind the shoulder, in the hollow above the knee?
