Due to the high north wind,I managed to get half a limit.
Didn't even get to shoot the gun till 10:00 a.m.
2 hen Mallards & 1 hen Hollywood mallard.
The ducks are in good numbers they just wanted out of the wind.

Thanks y'all .

Dennis, it's duck lingo.
I call Spoony's aka..Northern Shoveler ... Hollywood Mallards cause they take on some of same color as a Mallard & they have that spoon for a bill.
Just add sunglasses a martini & a cigar and their typical Hollywood.

Pintail- are also known as Sprig cause of the tail feathers.
Mallards-Greenheads.
Widgeon-Baldpate due to white crest on top of their heads.
We got names for all of them And some you just cant post. ;D ;D

coots one of em?
Actually back in the day, we shot some coots, and tried to clean them.....man that sucked. There is no meat on a coot to speak of, and I'm betting it would taste like raw carp.
