My yard birds came back this year. We never see them in the winter, but in the spring they show up. The bearded hen didn't show up last year, but she is back now with a longer beard. ;D Some say that is a big time trophy. I haven't heard of that, but if anybody knows. This pics aren't very good, but you can see the hen has at least a 7" beard now.
The pics were taken from my front window. One good thing for these birds, they are safe. At least on my property. My wife told me in no uncertain terms that if I shot one, there would be two shots. One on the turkey and one on me from her
Skeert me and I ain't skeerd of nothing ::)

It's a fluke deal/rare for a hen to have a beard.
So their more of a trophy then a tom with one.

We have a lot of beard hens around here.
I have never seen one with a beard over 4-5" long.
She's a good 1 for sure Dennis. ;D

That 1 tom has a great wide & long paint brush,Dennis ;D
