I took my 12-year old nephew duck hunting this afternoon for the first time, and he shot his first duck. A gadwall!!

He missed his opportunity at a couple more ducks because he wasn't paying attention, but that's how we all learn. We're going after it again in the morning.

Cool, that's what it's all about getting the young ones out.

He says he's addicted already! ;) He said he likes it better than deer hunting.

He shot his first deer 2 years ago, and my dad took him squirrel hunting yesterday while I bowhunted, and he shot his first squirrel, and eastern gray.

I really enjoy taking him hunting when I can. He's going to come out again in a couple of weeks when I take my treestand and feeder down. I have been seeing squirrels like crazy around the feeder, but don't to go blasting in there while archery is still open.
