Well last Friday.
Me & the wife had to go on a road trip to get our grand kids from their dad or he wasn't gonna let my step daughter get um for the summer.
Oklahoma to Minnesota & home @ 6:30 a.m. Monday morning. ::) :mad: :( :eek: ;D

Well this drive they say was to be 14.9 hours was more like 20hrs each way or longer.
We did two different routes going & coming back.
The first was a more enjoy able trip & took less time then the short route home-Well
that is what we were told by my ex- son in law.

The state of Nebraska has a 60 mph speed limit & it took us 5 hrs to go the 300 miles through it.
This was the fast route to be going home.

The trip had its up's & down's.
Got to see some Mule Deer again & some nice ones too in Nebraska.
We went through the Pheasant Capital of the United States South Dakota & seen only 5 pheasant well it is June.
Got to see the Dakotas Wetland Waterfowl Potholes.
What a sight 1000's & 1000's of ducks,geese,cranes & swans .
Most of all the ducks & geese were all banded birds
We went right through the major flyway migration of the central flyway.
I will remember it for time to come & hope to get to hunt it some day up north.

We seen a total of 10 live deer & 3 dead from road kill.

This was one hell of a Road Trip.
Lots more to say about the trip but,I'll leave it alone.

I slept all day Monday thru Tuesday morning till 7:15 a.m. for work.

That was one heck of a trip! Glad you made it back ok. You said you took two different routes....did you use a GPS to figure your routes? We have a Tom Tom GPS, and sometimes the shortest route is not the fastest. Case in point...If I take highway 60 to grand lake that is straight across the state, or go to 412, south, then thru Tulsa, and then up through I44, I can be shorter by taking the longer route as the speed limits are faster. Knocks about an hour off the drive.

Dennis,
Nope we don't have a G.P.S. or navigational system.
Just a road atlas & map quest is how we went.

We went through,Oklahoma,Kansas,Nebraska,Missouri,Iowa, South Dakota,North Dakota then Minnesota. That was the 1st route & it took 17hr's.

The
2nd route was through Minnesota,North Dakota,South Dakota,Nebraska,Kansas,& Home S.W. Oklahoma.20 1/2 hours.
This was to be the fast route acording to my X-Son in Law. ::)
He told us he has made the trip in 13 hours before ::) ::) ::) .
What @ 90 mph all the way?

My son calls me when they leave Dallas to come home. He usually pulls up in 3 1/2 hours. When I go down there, running a radar detector, and doing 80-85 it takes me over 4 hours????
