That looks like a great day of hunting! ;D Just out of couriosty, did you do a ballpark on your average of shots per bird.
I read one time that the national average was 1 1/2 boxes of shells per bird, which calculated into the biggest day of profit for the manufacturers.

I just got back from out trout fishing trip this afternoon. More on that in in other thread. ;)

After we got back and unpacked, I grabbed my "new" shotgun(I'm not sure I've posted about this) and went out to a piece of private ground that has produced a few birds in the past.......saw one bird. I never took my shotgun out of the case. :'( :'( :'(
There was some shooting around me in some of the short bean fields, but the farmer had put this in milo, and the dove won't use that. Maybe late season when its harvested. :'(

O'Ya it was a Blast to say the least. ;D

Dang..sorry to hear about the small #'s of doves up your way Dennis.
Got to see that new shotgun when ya get a chance.
Can't wait to hear about the trout adventure too.

I'm on a 2:1 ratio so far for shooting.
2 shells to 1 dove..pretty good shooting.

Thanks,Dennis.

Bird...I got them marinating in a Mc Cormicks Chipotia pepper seasoning.
Then, I'll dip them in a cajun batter & deep fry them.
From their they will go into a Jalopeno with cream cheese & wrapped in bacon.
Take um to the BBQ till they get lightly black grill mark.
Then the feed will begin. Um Um yummy yummy.
