There is quite a few pelicans come from the coast to Okla every winter, so I decided to get some pictures of them. Its pretty fun to watch them "water ski" into a landing. ;D

I have never seen em in Oklahoma up close always see em at the beach though..Good pics.
Goofy birds; They must weight about 40-50 pounds.
Lake Lawtonka is loaded up with them, a few hundred at least.
They seem to come in right as Duck Season comes to a close every year.

I actually hate them. They sit down in our discharge channel and eat every fish that comes up there if they can reach them. I read that they take about 4 lb fish a day.
Dennis,
Is that a 4 lb fish or they consume 4 lbs of fish a day ?
We use to feed um turkey drumsticks, what was left of them.
They would swallow them up with 1 goulp.
Then we feed um alkacelser...That was funny..we were kids.
I'll bet that made them foam at the mouth! ;D LMAO

Its 4 lbs of fish of any size they can get in their mouth. I've watched them take a 10" shad in one gulp. But they will take bass, crappie, perch or anything else they can get.
I hear ya Dennis...Good for nothing birds, but to clean off the filleted fish off of a boat.

They foamed up alright :D :D it was LMAO Good.
