I also want to sell a 20 gauge Winchester Model 101 'Skeet' model. This is an O/U. At some point in its life (I have owned it for 20 years) it was cut down for a smaller person. Without the slip on, the LOP is 14 1/8. With the slip on it is 14 3/4.
You can see a blemish in the bluing that I have touched up. I believe it happened from somebody having it setting in a rack.
$900 or best offer.

Do you know what year it was made and do numbers match?

Hey Murph--I am gonna need some help here. I have looked at a few charts on line and cannot figure it out.
The barrel is marked St. Louis and Montreal and near the reciever end after breaking it down its stamped M 89190.
On the under side of the receiver its stamped 4G and underneath the 4G (not connected) is 71460.

From 1958 to 67 they started the number letter code. The G stands for light and the 4 means it’s a 1964. I remember now sometime in the 50’s FN quit matching barrel and receiver numbers. According to the barrel number M 89190 it’s from a standard 12 gauge from 1958. Here’s the charts I used.

So, does this mean this barrel was not originally on this receiver? Or is it that the barrel was made in a different year?

It is a 64 gun. I forgot they quit putting serial numbers on barrels in 1953. Montreal was added in 1959. I’ll check another table too see about barrel.

Is the barrel number on the barrel ring? 1957 was the last year the numbers ran concurrently.
