Congratulations on the turkey! In a ground blind?
No, I was actually in a tree stand, if you want to call it that. Its 2 pieces of 4x4 post wedged into the crook of the tree. One for your feet and 1 for your butt. My step son was down on the creek building a fort and did it, but it worked. ;)
Congrats on all your game. Ill get the points added. Where were you hunting? Those are big bodied deers.
Since rifle season is over, and I have seen a lot of rabbits and squirrels lately, I decided to go after a few of those. Lots of walking and only kicked up 2 rabbits, and only shot 1. Not a squirrel in sight. Go figure!

Congrats on the doe jack-a-lope!
Those bunnys are good eating. I used to run beagles, and the chase was awesome. We used Ruger pistols, and threw out a hail of lead for them to run into. LOL, lots of shooting and a few rabbits.
Went out again today, and the squirrels were out fairly well. I shot these squirrels and rabbit, and my dad shot another squirrel. He also saw another was a little out of range, and he lost sight of it, and I shot another squirrel, but it found a knothole to crawl its wounded self into! :(

Oh well, still not a bad day! And tomorrow it's back to work, so next hunt maybe this weekend for the reopener of waterfowl! Woohoo!

Congrats on the small game hunt!

I'm waiting on the second duck season myself. Not much of a duck hunter, but when deer hunting the area that I rebuilt the pond on, over 200 mallards came off the pond. I left pretty quick, and they landed back in the same area.

I'm sure with the cold weather, the pond is frozen and they are gone, but its supposed to warm up some, and maybe some new ducks will come to take their place.
Dennis I bet that pond will be holding ducks well. They seemed to favor the farm ponds the 1st half of the season.
I'm looking forward to the second duck season myself.
If this cold keeps up I think they will favor bigger water the second half.
It may thaw out some, but right now the only open water in our neck of the woods is the Arkansas River, and Kaw lake. I got the duck report from the ODW today, and it said Kaw was VERY low on numbers. The cold drove them south.

Trap line is producing.
1 Bobcat and 4 *****, in two days. Caught 5 possums in the **** cuffs as well, but left the phone in the truck and wasn't going to carry them out, so my loss.

For the record, I only get half points for the fur taken this fall. I have a buddy trapping with me, and we have shared our traps and property's for a 1/2 split in $ at the end of the season.
