Spring/Summer BBQ..

Here's the deal I am considering having a big BBQ in late spring to early summer on a Saturday this next year. So I am curious who all would want to come out for such an event? It would basically be a pot luck style. I'd provide the meat and everyone else bring a side, dessert and so forth. I would like to make this a family friendly event so anyone with kids can bring em on out. I would likely pick a park area by a lake or something but to be family friendly it has to have a park area for the kids. So let me know what you think.

What??? no beer??? no dancing girls??? What kind of party is this?? ??? ??? ???

Just kidding ::) I don't have any little cookie crunchers around the house any more, but I'd like to come. It will all depend on the date and my work schedule. I do have to work some weekends.
Oh there would be beer just not an all out beer feast..:) I can't eat BBQ without beer..:) I'll post dates as it get's closer to the time. If we have a good enough interest I'll find a local park area or lake area to host it at..
Lake Stanley Draper has a 2.5 million upgrade to 2 of their points. They have pavillions and playgrounds. Looks really nice. Volley ball courts also.
Yeah my wifes 10 yr reunion has a family picnic out there..Good call.. I'll find out how we can resume the pavilion area and such.
I was just out there on the south side of the lake and it does look nice.
May sounds like a good time of year to get together.
Still not to hot nor to cold to have a BBQ.
After spring turkey season would work for me.
Yeah I figure that's a good time not much hunting going on. I figure to make it easy and simple make burgers..Easy to make and not overly expensive..If I can twist my dads arm I may get him to smoke up some brisket as well.
I talked to my Lake Officers and they said we can reserve a pavillion at the Marina. Not for sure on the cost, they thought 10-20 bucks. Will try and find out.
Good deal..as long as it has plenty of seats and a BBQ we are set. I figure we can grill burgers or something with plenty of sides. Keep it simple and have some fun.
Any of y'all want to set a date & location on this BBQ-G.T. for this summer?
I'm game for whenever.
I am up for something if we do it soon. My wife is due Aug 9. I wish I had been able to plan it in early spring but being jobless put a dent in what I could and could no do. So if we want to try and line something up for late August early September that would be great. That way we could bypass some of the heat..
Set a date & time.
Will go from their okchunter.
What would everyone think about September 12 or 19?

Next up what do we want to do burgers and dogs?? Once we get a complete head count I'll make a list of what all we need.

We also need a location that's central for everyone so no one person has to drive to far. Any thoughts on a location? Something kid friendly for sure. I know draper has some nice covered areas and probably just about any park.
August 12 is good for me. About any onther weekend around then I am booked. I hope we can get some of the Tulsa crew down to this one,

Michael
