I took my son with me the other day to try squirrel hunting. He didn't actually get to cary a gun but I wanted a picture of both of us with our guns.
We didn't see a single squirrel that afternoon because it was too windy and early (not to mention little kids don't walk very quiet. 馃榿) but we had a lot of fun wandering around 1500+ acres of woods.

My eldest son does appliance repair and resell. He makes some good change at times. Not so much with this inflation.
It's a good trade. I enjoy it.

What do y'all think is there any chance I might get a squirrel if I go out later if it's not windy? It's 35掳 right now so my fingers will be cold but I've got an itch to go wander around in the woods and shoot at things. 馃榿

It appears the answer is no squirrels don't come out when it's this cold. 馃様 Also my fingers don't like to come out when it's this cold.

Saw a squirrel running down the power line in front of my place this afternoon. They do come out when it鈥檚 cold. Our high was 18* today with single digit wind chills. I鈥檇 rather have taken some of the collard dove in the pine tree in the front yard instead.

Yeah I keep seeing them on fences and power lines in town they're tempting me to start carrying a gun in my work truck. 馃槀

We had them running around our yard this morning at 22 degrees F.

I probably didn't stay out long enough because I froze.
You certainly have to dress for the weather and the amount of physical activity during that weather.

Dress in layers based on your physical activity levels. I wanna try my new pack boots that are rated to -50.

I am hoping to go back tomorrow and I'll definitely wear more layers.

It sure was pretty out this morning but I didn't see a squirrel. 馃様
I did however find this old basement down by Lake Ellsworth and it appears the beavers are using the basement for storage and maybe a house.

You had a great day in the woods though!
That hole doesn鈥檛 appear to be fresh. Abandoned by some critter. About the right size for an armadillo.

Yep I enjoyed it.
That makes sense. I saw armadillo sign all over.
I might have to hunt armadillo or something if I don't see a squirrel one of these days. My wife says it is really good.
