Starts at 0900 hrs.
this is a great start for those wanting to get into competition shooting. No running and gunning, you basically have your pistol (most shoot .22lr) in a bag or holster at the start. Once the timer goes off, start shooting at the steel, "ringing" each with a hit. At the last shot the timer shuts off. Its a ton of fun. If anybody doesn't have a pistol and is interested, I'll loan you mine, with the ammo to boot!
round count may be around 100, but I'd bring some more. (or I'll provide it) ;)
$10 entry fee for club members, $15 for non-members.

And I can attest, this is a very fun match, except for the part where Dennis whoops the tar out of ya!! Good batch a guys that are more than willing to help you out with the shoot and explain anything that you have questions about. I shot the last one as my first steel plate match and had a ball. Wish i could make this one.

Yeah, bull, get with Byrd, and come up. Its fun yet challenging. You would think that steel plates that run from 10" circles to square plates 16"X24" at 15 to 25 yds would be a piece of cake. Trust me, your brain thinking you can just sweep thru them pulling the trigger will humble you at the end.

Byrd, this isn't the fun match that you came up for, but a different type of shoot. These don't fall, just ring. If you don't hear the ring, and go back to hit it again, it costs lots of time when a match can be determined by less than a second. ;D

This will be a tune up for a charity shoot in Tulsa at USAA for a kid that has Lukemia on Sunday.
Little guy thats 13 has it, so the shooting community state wide has put on a charity shoot for the kid. 100% payback for the single mom family from match fees, plus some big names in the shooting world have donated prizes, as well as items for a raffle, door prizes, and auction.
Food has been donated, etc.

there will be steel challenge for rifle, pistol, both rimfire and centerfire, a shotgun on steel poppers match, and a 300 yd match for center fire, and .22 rimfire.

I'll have 6 guns I'm taking. Its gonna be a blast! ;D

I'm pretty excited to go, and meet people I've been on the internet with for years in the shooting/hunting community, and contribute to at great cause.

The plates will humble ya for sure, but it's a fun humbling. Sure makes you think about getting all of your equipment running right and front sight, front sight, front sight!

Have fun at both shoots and hope ya do well.

29 shooters showed up this morning. A little breeze kept it tolerable. We were suprised at the turnout with all of this heat. ;D

Scores haven't been posted yet. Don't know how I came out. Three different squads. Did ok. I'll post scores when I get them. The match director is also an Ambuc. They put on the Grand National Moto Cross that is in town this weekend, and he is working it too. Might be a few days, put I'll get them posted on this thread.

I'm in the hunt for a compensator for the Ruger. I was within a few tenths of a second on one, and less than 2 seconds overall from moving up considerably. All of the folks above were using tricked out pistols, with comps, and grips. Mine is out of the box. Not trying to make excuses, but in this game, one has to have some additions to a stocker.

Or you could throw cans at them while they shoot! Gonna try to get some guys at work to come up there one weekend for the .22 shoot, I'm still giggling about the last one.
