Turtle Season Is Open!

Did some turtle shooting this weekend and got the 10/22 all fired up and rolling. I've had this for almost 10yrs now and I showed her some love. Took the whole thing apart including the trigger group for a good cleaning. While I had her disassembled I did some polishing of the trigger parts, modified the bolt hold open thingy so now you don't have to press the button to close the bolt, just pull back and let go. Sanded some tight spots on the barrel/stock fit, polished the guide rod and installed a extended mag release that I've had for 10yrs. Finished with a good lubing with Rem DriLube. She liked the spa treatment and went to popping turtles like crazy. Ain't she pretty?

Nice,
Haven't seen a 10/22 with the full stock in awhile.
Nice looking rifle! ;D Like guage, I haven't seen the full length stock since I got rid of my old WWII Ariska in 7.7 Jap.
I really like the laminated stocks.
Leah and I got married Aug '97 and Ashley (the step-daughter) got that for me for Christmas that year. I've been sorta fond of both ever since. I've done the dollar bill test and it is totally free floating till about 2in from the action and I have got to get another silver scope for her. Had a Simmons and the cross hairs broke. But this one works really well just looks like heck.

Shoots well 'cept for the loose nut behind the trigger.
I may have to open up turtle season myself this weekend if it doesn't rain. The creek at the farm should have stopped flowing by now, and the turtles/snakes should be easy pickins in the pools. ;D I'll have to use the .22 Ruger Mark 3 Hunter with the red dot sight on it, & shoot left handed ;D

I thought that's how you're suppose to shoot, from the left side. Hummm.... ;D
Darn leftys. ;D
You always said I wasn't right, I thought you meant right handed.... :D
My weekend plans of getting out on the creek are over :'( :'( Got 2" of rain in Grant county last night, so the creek will be full again, and flowing :'(

Maybe the tulsa gun show! ;D ;D
Bird just ain't right anytime :D :D ;D J/K
He got it right by bring a gun for a turkey & a one shot kill.
Insteed of a bow and 5 shoots & no turkey. :D :D :D :D ;D ;D
I got to give ya hell about that trip,Bird.

Gun Show...They always come around when ya ain't got any money  .
I hate looking around & wishing,I had cash to buy a deal.
Hope ya find a new gun,Dennis.
I almost never buy a gun at gun shows, but, ,I'll have to admit to trading my Browning gold shotgun for the citori that I still shoot.. That guy thought he got a deal, but what he got was a screwing. I was very unhappy with the gun, and was willing to tell the truth about the gun not ejecting, misfiring, and so on but when he quoted me a trade price of more than a new one costs it made me mad, so we just went from there. Screw me, & You'll get screwed.  It was way out of warrenty, and brownings price to repair/replace the bad components, was the price of a new gun almost + with the raised comb, it just didn't fit me.
Dennis, What Browning Gold Model did ya have?

Gold Hunter 3", Gold Hunter 3 1/2", Gold Superlight Hunter,Gold Superlite Micro,Gold Full Line Dealer Hunter/or Superlite,

I love Browning Guns & have shoot alot of different models of their shotguns.
Never heard anything bad about a Browning Gold Model till today.
Want to know what model inperticular to stay away from.
Thanks,Dennis.
I'm gonna take my 204 out this weekend and blast some of them turtles.
ELIP,
Their should be nothing left of them after that 204 hits um. ;D
It'll look like depth charges going off with that .204!
