I have officially quit smoking...Gave it a while ago and just haven't bothered to start back..I feel much better now and no more hacking up a lung in the morning anymore. My pocket book feels better, wife is happier and all around I am glad I finally did it. Anyways just thought I would share that since it's pretty exciting news at least for me anyways..:)

Thats dammed exciting news for me. I was a 2 pack a day guy and quit in 1976 when the price of smokes went up to .35 a pack
I got talked into a cuban cigar when in St. Maartin a couple of years ago, which almost made me puke. Of course I won't admit to being under the influence of the demon rum ::) ;)
It really is a life changing event. My ex smoked after I quit, and at the time cigarette smoke didn't bother me when we went out, but after she bailed, and I met and married a woman, that didn't smoke 18 yrs ago, I can't stand to go anywhere where there is smoking allowed. Consequently I don't go to bars, which is a good thing in more ways than one. ;)

Yeah I had been going with my friend to the pub twice a month but well stopped that..Just changing my habits a bit till I get over the rough period...Wife has begged me to quit for some time and I had been hiding it from my kids...then my son saw it and asked me what they were and well that did it.....So I quit and well so far so good...I have noticed I seem to eat more often now..lol

Congrats, okc...it's kinda like getting a new lease on life...if you all have kids, they appreciate it too. I've lost more than my share of relatives to cancer...it's tough all around.

...c'mon, Gauge...you can do it too!

Yeah I quit when my son was born and lasted about 2 yrs...once all the stress of school and such really settled in I picked it back up and well been fighting it off and on since..Then one day my son said something to me about it just out of the blue and wow what an eye opener...He asked me if I was gonna die and man that was a kick in the pants..So that was enough motivation for me to give it up...

I agree with the stress, I can usually tell a day ahead when I will need more snuff with me, just because I know what I will be doing that day.
I'm workin on cutting back but within the last year I have , gotten married, had my first kid, started building a new house, and taken on a foreman position at woek. Stress level is through the roof most days.
I'm gonna have to do something though, my boy is 7 months old and already trying to mimick my every move, this is one thing I DONT want him to learn from me.

I had just got out of the army when I quit, but it took me almost 6 months before I could leave my zippo at home. I had a thousand excuses why I had to have it with me, and finally figured out that I was just in denial. Never smoked during that time, but I guess it was my life line in case I slipped.

To everyone of yall that have either quit smoking or dipping or both...Congratulations...tobacco is such an adictive drug..I was smoking 2 packs a day...that was over 30 years ago...I quit smoking but started dipping...my lungs were better but my gum line was receeding..then I finally was able to quit dipping..man it was tough..it is amazing how such a little thing can change a persons life..I'm like Dennis..smoke never seemed to bother me...now I just can't be around much of it...same with dipping...I use to dip at least 2 cans a day and now I can hardly stand to smell it...but it is just a really tough thing to do...and so once again...congratulations to everyone that has quit...and to everyone that are still using it but trying to quit..just remember that you didn't get addicted to it in one day and you sure can't get off of it in one day....hang in there and never quit trying...hell..go outside and scream or bawl or both...do whatever it takes....

Not as easy as we all think sometimes, to give up tobacco.
I'm back to sunflower seeds...a few packs a day...Salt or tobacco?
Got to kick it somehow.

Stress has always been the big issue.
When you life changes at a plink of an eye.

Everyone has personal problems granted.
I just need a darn break from um-8 years now & I wish things would change for the better.
Having a better job would make it all better,Well most of the stress.

I'm eating seeds & smoking less.
