I know the limit is 6 birds. I know its 5 mallard drakes, 1 pintail and canvasback, but how does work the other spieces of ducks? Can anyone help me?

I have looked at the regulations but they are not very clear.

Puddle Ducks.
Mallard-5 only 2 maybe hens.
Pintail-1 of either sex.
Gadwall-6 of either sex.
Widgeon-6 of either sex.
G.W. Teal & B.W. Teal-6 of either sex but only 4 for the early Sept hunt.
Spoony-6 of either sex.
Woodduck-3 of either sex.

Diver Ducks.
Canvasback-1 of either sex.
Redhead-2 of either sex.
Scaup-2 Lesser or 2 greater of either sex a.k.a. bluebills.
Bufflehead 6 of either sex.
Common or Barrows Goldeneye 6 of either sex.
Ringneck-6 of either sex.

That should get ya by for around here in Southwestern Oklahoma.

Thanks Gauge. I appreciate you help. The booklet you get a Wal Mart or other places are not clear clear on the limit of the birds. Now you helped me get a clear picture. Thanks again.

You have to understand that gauge is part duck. The man can identify a duck at ranges you and I can't even see without bino's. I haven't even come close to shooting at as many ducks as he's missed which is probably 1/10 of the amount he's harvested. Unless it was a greenhead I had to have him tell me what ducks was and which ones to shoot at to get a proper limit last fall. I'll admit he's my duck mentor.

Just make sure you cheek out the new restriction's on different species every year in the waterfowl regs.
