Re: What is favorite all time ammo manufactor ?

Reloads are my favorite, but I'd have always liked Remingtons corelok ammo. But after this past deer season I may have a new fav. Hornady's LeverRevolution worked pretty well.

Just shot the Hevi-shot, 2 3/4 turkey loads today. 40yrs had 65-80 pellets in a 10in circle with my super full choke. Still looking for the Venterlator choke. Was shooting at an old metal satalite dish and they just almost passed thru. Found some of the pellets and they didn't deform after hitting the dish.

Winchester for both rifle and shotgun second and for B/P T/C's Shockwaves far.

I am my favorite ammo Mfg. ;D
I haven't shot a factory load since the middle 80's in shotgun or centerfire. I do have to buy the rimfire though :'(

I use to reload shotshells...Can buy them now for cheapier...Hard to believe.
You must have a really good source. I just loaded 19 boxes of 1 1/4 oz loads that travel at 1375 fps. The store bought shells with that load are running around 12 to 15 bucks a box depending on the brand. I have about $65 in 19 boxes.

I wish I had the gear to reload..One day I will cause I did a few calculations and reloading would be cheaper if you don't take into consideration the initial expense on tools..Although over hmm a 10 yr period I'd earn dividends in reloading..

You can get started for about $40 bucks or less. When I started loading shot shells, I bought the Lee Load-all for $25. It has all the bushings and dies to load any 12 ga shell to include the 3" included with the loader at no extra price. I'll bet I've loaded 10000 rounds with that loader over the years, and I still have it. Now I use the RCBS Grand 8 station progressive loader since I'm shooting some trap and skeet , and need the volume to sustain a 200-400 round day.
I just had my buddies save me their empty rounds from dove shoots, etc., and worked up a load for each brand of shell from federals to winchesters. Now I pretty much stay with the AA, and Rem Gold hulls.
Here is a link to the Lee Load-All II

Dennis,
This is what,I stopped at when reloading.
Load 1 1/8oz dove loads @ 1425 & 1300 fps.
Once, everything was bought, powder, primers, sheels,& shot for a case of ammo.
Talk'n about 500 rounds the old case of ammo.
After the math..It was running about $6.25 a box.
Now, I can buy Winchester AA Sporting Clay Loads of 1 1/8 oz & @ 1300 fps for $5.00 a box.
I stopped reload'n about 2 years ago & sold everything to a City Cop friend of mine.

Reload'n for Metallic's...Rifle/Pistol is have'n a better load with better accuracy.
I,Haven't seen an difference but price, for both.
Shotshells...The same and cost is more to reload then buy.

I was think'n of buy'n the Mec Steel Shot Master for the 10 Gauge ,I use to have.
It was gonna cost $5.00 more a box to reload them then just to buy them in the store.

It was alot of fun when it was cheap to do.
