Who's having problems with it ticks?

Well I finally sprayed yard around the house for ticks. This spring the ticks have been worse than I have seen in a while. I think the weather has contributed to part of this problem. I was wondering if you all have been having problems with them.

I’m covered up with them, pulled two off just yesterday. They are just a part of living where I do, in a couple weeks it will be snakes and mosquitoes. I’ve also got flies around the yard by the pound.

No problem with snake but the flies later on and the mosquitoes at the pond when it warms up.

We don’t have much problems with ticks. I think it’s because the turkey come through the yard almost daily, pecking at whatever is good for them, so I’m sure ticks are part of their diet.
Skeeters aren’t a problem at the house because we have bats. We can see them darting around at night under the yard light.
Get away from the house, and it’s a different story.

We watch bats during the summer but still have skeeters big as chickens.

This stuff right here is GOLDEN for keeping flies under a bit of control. You can get them at Atwoods, or order online. The bait is all-natural ingredients too, so if your dog gets into it (why I wouldn't know) you're safe.

I have 3 at different corners of my house. I do keep them under cover (overhangs) for weather reasons though.

Each bait lasts about 3 weeks, and I probably dump out about 1K flies from each trap.

It really keeps 95% of them out of my house.

I was sitting out on the porch night before last and watched an east TX mosquito eat a bat.😳🤣

For some reason I think you very well might be telling the truth!

Here’s the fact. I used to have a lot of bats flying around in the evening, and now, I only see one or two. I think the mosquitoes could be eating them. 🤷‍♂️

We have 27 chickens and I’m looking into getting a couple Guinea fowl. Lots of brush on our property. I have yet to find a tick on my but I’ve pulled two off the kids this past week and one of our cat yesterday. Hoping the birds help keep them down. I’ve heard Guinea fowl do great but ducks absolutely destroy them 🤷‍♂️

Got my first two yesterday. I was cleaning up in some high grass, and went into the shop. Felt one crawling on my leg, and it got the propane torch treatment after flipping it on the floor.
Got up this morning and had one attached to the back of the leg, so it's swimming in the septic tank as we speak. Hate those danged things.

Ticks and chiggers are the 2 things I don’t miss at all.

Get you some guinea hens...they'll take care of both the ticks and the snakes. Your peace and quite will suffer, though. Those things make a racket.

I sure do like them other than getting on the roof of the house. They are as bad as the dogs, a leaf falls and they get so worked up they bark for twenty minutes.

Averaging about one a day from the yard. I've got a lot of old insecticide left from the gardening days and the yard needs sprayed with broadleaf, so thinking I'm gonna throw everything related to killing bugs in the three point sprayer and turn this place into a toxic waste zone for bugs.

I've seen them that size on some of the stray dogs we get around here on occasion. Only a couple miles out of town, so people dump their unwanted dogs out here.

First one I've ever pulled off of either lab over the years. It was under his chin about half way between his chin and throat.
