Finished up a 8'x12' greenhouse for my wife. Started it last fall but didn't get shelves installed until recently. Still have to get electricity ran or we'll just be killing plants in the winter like this year. I tried a small space heater but on an extension cord it just couldn't keep up with our winter winds and lack of insulation.

Anyhow, just used drawings and such off the internet then started cutting. yes, will take a LOT of flowers and plants to recoup the costs but "happy wife, happy life"! :)

Wow! Heck of a project! I like your design and use of the fiberglass panels vs the visqueen most use that doesn’t fare well in the Oklahoma winds.

Shoot….looks like a gold mine in lumber alone.
You could run a hose through some PVC pipe about 6”down and put a spigot on the side of it. I did something similar but with an extension cord to the wife’s she shed out back so she could have power.

Yeah, let's not get into costs! But, it was cheaper than buying one premade and delivered in addition to being much more sturdy. I've got a water line similar to what you state running from our house spigot to an above ground spigot by the garden. Works great. I tried the extension cord to run a small portable heater to try and keep the greenhouse above freezing when we had the one really cold spell. Too far on an extension cord and ended up melting the heater plug and the extension cord plug! OOPS!

Never ever put a space heater on an extension cord! Thank God that’s all that happened. Have you checked the outlet to make sure the wires are still good?
Yeah, I'm lucky the greenhouse didn't burn down. I replaced the plug on the heater and checked the outlets and all okay. Funny thing when reading the instruction manual AFTER my situation it clearly says to not run on an extension cord! Bonehead move for certain.

At least nothing major happened and lesson was learned. This is how most space heater fires happen, people think it’s from knocking them over but when it’s 1am and everyone in the house is asleep what is there to knock them over? Plus most have tip sensors. To small of wire pulling to many amps equals heat.

Congratulations on completing the greenhouse for your wife! It sounds like a great project and a wonderful way to enjoy plants and gardening year-round.
You are right that electricity and insulation are important considerations for a greenhouse, especially in colder climates. It's worth investing in proper insulation and a reliable heating system to keep your plants healthy and thriving during the winter months.
It's also great that you were able to find plans and inspiration online to help you with the project. The internet can be a valuable resource for DIY projects, and it's always satisfying to see a project come together.
Wishing you and your wife many happy years of gardening in your new greenhouse!. With the gardening you should focus on games for the physical and intellectual health
DAMN! There for a minute I thought you cared then the last sentence. :) MODERATORS - wave the magic wand please.
