Murph, just curious, why a big corn pile instead of feeder? I'd love to have some of those tom's visit under my stand this weekend!

My brother got a trailer load of “crap” from the CooP. It’s sweepings, bin clean out, wet and molded corn, milo, soybeans and wheat for free. It would plug up a feeder. So he went to dumping it everywhere in piles. Probably 4 tons.

Send some my way. The only wild turkey around here is on a shelf at the store.

I'm curious how far these turkeys come every year to congregate in this spot. They have been doing it for about 7 or 8 years since my brother and the neighbor started feeding sillage, ground corn and distillers grain. There's about 35 or 40 toms in this group.

It’s weird. We never see turkey in the summer or early fall. Winter comes and here come the turkey.
They stay until spring breeding season is over. The toms disappear leaving the hens to nest on the ridge we live on.
Shortly after the eggs hatch they all disappear until the following fall.
