Went to Texas this weekend with my buddy and we slayed some hogs. There were 3 of us and got about 12 of em. Several took hits and made it into the timber and we didn’t find. I was using my 6.8 SPC , with 4x ACOG and shooting SSA 110gr. Soft point spritzers. They worked really good. I got 4. 2 boars and 2 sows. The last sow I got had to bee 400lbs and was probably full of piglets. My new XDM Elite 10mm got a good work out finishing the ones that were still flopping. 13 grains of Blue Dot with 155gr HP did a good job. The other guys were using 556 and 300 BO. One group of 5 big and 3 piglets we caught in the wheat field. We got 4 of the big and the 5th took hits as it entered the thick mesquite. We found blood and it went off a canyon ledge. We quit looking at that point. The piglets followed it and took no fire. First shots were about 125 yards. I dropped boar and buddy dropped sow. The rest ran in a circle at first, Taking fire, Then ran right at us. One sow I got within “oh shit” distance. She tumbled end over end when I hit her. The bad thing is , I got none of this on camera. One of the coolest things I saw was when my buddy fired a tracer and I saw it disappear into a hog. Can’t wait to go again. Guns are filthy from riding in the ranger. Today is cleaning day.
Me and a lonely rainbow trout from the ice. Probably my last trip and fish through the ice this season. View attachment 10260

Great choice! Being alone in that situation, I'd have done the same thing.I went in where they usually go and started getting the heebee jeebees cause I couldn’t see the ground and more than 20 yards bad spot on a wounded hog and being by yourself
That’s exactly why I got my Redhawk .44 mag as I had too many close calls in the thick stuff.I went in where they usually go and started getting the heebee jeebees cause I couldn’t see the ground and more than 20 yards bad spot on a wounded hog and being by yourself
Welcome to Oklahoma Hunter! Where do you call home?I see it's been a while since you've posted, but I just wanted to ask if anyone’s been back out lately or had any luck with deer movement picking up again. I’ve noticed more activity around sunset where I hunt, especially near cut cornfields. Curious if that lines up with what others are seeing—any new spots producing for y’all this season?
